The striking feature of this piece is its magnificent 18-layered mandorla that radiates outward. I created this Shinsunwa while meditating on Anandamayi Ma’s photograph, and the experience felt like receiving darshan through pure energy. At her feet appears a symbol of the cosmic principle, with energy flowing through and connecting to her hands.

When you first see Hafez’s Shinsunwa, there’s an immediate glow—overwhelming, yet captivating enough to catch you by surprise. The mandorla stretches across eleven distinct layers, dominating the composition with a mix of intensity and solidity. It’s a presence that naturally makes you stop and take notice.

When I was creating Saint Francis’s Shinsunwa, something unexpected happened. The ‘path to the spiritual core’ naturally flowed beyond the top edge of my paper, as if it needed more room to breathe. So I added another sheet above—the way you might grab an extra page when a letter grows longer than expected.
